Lessons N Sessions, LLC (“LNS”) is committed to protecting the privacy of your health information. The federal Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) gives you specific rights regarding your protected health information (PHI), and we are required by law to maintain its confidentiality and provide you with notice of our legal duties and privacy practices.

Our Notice of Privacy Practices

A complete copy of our Notice of Privacy Practices (NPP) is provided to every new client at intake. It describes in detail how we may use and disclose your protected health information for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations, and your rights with respect to that information.

Under HIPAA, you have the right to:

  • Receive a copy of our Notice of Privacy Practices
  • Inspect and obtain a copy of your health record
  • Request amendments to your record
  • Request restrictions on certain uses or disclosures
  • Receive an accounting of disclosures
  • File a complaint without retaliation

Filing a complaint

If you believe your privacy rights have been violated, you may file a written complaint with our Privacy Officer at the contact information above, or with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights. We will never retaliate against you for filing a complaint.
